Sand Boarding

This traditional Sufi spinning dance is hypnotic. The performer wears layers of heavy, vividly coloured skirts that fan outward into a spinning disc of pattern and light as he whirls without stopping. Originating in Egypt and rooted in spiritual Sufi tradition, the Tanura is an ancient art form that looks — quite literally — like the performer is defying gravity and time itself.
The Fire Show (Purtggol) turns the night sky into a canvas. Skilled performers manipulate blazing torches, rings of fire, and spinning poi in an explosive display of light and precision.
